Netlink ECP™

(Element Control Processor)
The Netlink ECP™ is an all-in-one management appliance tailor-made for operators of smaller networks and facilities. These operators must conquer enterprise level management challenges without enterprise level budgets. Netlink ECP™ is a robust yet affordable solution with a package of features unmatched in the industry…features that hold the line on cost while allowing you to exert real control over your communications infrastructure.

Overview

Built for management of legacy and state-of-the-art equipment, NetLink ECP's network control software provides real-time management of communications networks and facilities equipment. NetLink ECP is available in two formats:
  • NetLink ECP-FEP, as a front-end processor
  • NetLink ECP-M&C, a standalone monitor and control system
Both versions integrate with DataPath's MaxView® network control software. The NetLink ECP eliminates the need for separate management systems that manage only subsets of equipment, are limited by the type of control interface and have limited or no ability to exchange information with other systems. The NetLink ECP is provided in a 1RU package that is reliable, compact and rugged without sacrificing performance or device management capacity.

Configurations

NetLink ECP is provided with a configurable complement of software. In its minimum configuration, the NetLink ECP-FEP is configured as a remote front end processor, performing local device polling where serial, contact closure or analog data is IP encapsulated and passed to a central MaxView server. In another configuration, the NetLink ECP M&C can host a complement of software to configure the NetLink ECP as a stand-alone M&C system (M&C system in a box).

I/O Link

The I/O Link intelligent interface controller monitors contact closure (GPI) devices such as legacy and modern equipment and environmental systems (i.e., door alarms, smoke alarms, etc.). I/O Link is a free-standing rack mount unit with a serial interface, and it is available in two configurations to provide high-performance I/O for 32 or 96 points.

Configurations

Each I/O point can be individually configured as either an input or output, and its configuration and state are displayed on front panel LED’s. Each input is optically isolated and can interface to either contact closure or current drive sources.

The outputs are dry contact closures that utilize latching relays to assure that loss of power does not affect equipment operation. The connections are made to 37 pin connectors or to optional terminal blocks with screw terminals.
