MaxView Uplink Power Control
Uplink Power Control (UPC) is an automated method to manipulate the transmit power of an uplink to counteract atmospheric events that attenuate the transmission between the earth station and the satellite. These events are typically rain (or wet snow) events. The severity of the degradation to the uplink signal is proportional to the intensity of the rain event and is defined as fade, in this case specifically uplink fade. Increasing the uplink power to overcome this fade is the primary function of UPC.
Point-and-Shoot Control
MaxView provides a set of graphical point-and-click screens to configure UPC for a particular antenna. The configurable parameters are either global or channel-specific. Global parameters pertain to all channels on a given antenna. Channel-specific parameters pertain to the RF equipment in a single uplink chain.
Key MaxView Features:
- Multiple UPC Modes
- Support for 1:1 Redundant Channels
- Redundant Beacon Sources
- Automatic Beacon Source Selection
- Alarm Creation
- Thermal Feed Protection
- Uplink Power Speed
